A GERMAN (SAXON) RAPIER, EARLY 17TH CENTURY

Straight double-edged blade with ricasso, slightly tapering towards the oval tip. Maker’s marks. Iron guard with side rings and the knuckle guard, faceted mushroom shaped pommel. Grip is wrapped with iron wire and twisted brass wire. Turk’s heads on top and on bottom.
